MARCO POLO’s Event held in December 2018

Past December a series of events were held in Hanoi and organized by our partner HANU within the framework of MARCO POLO project. The first one was the organization, on the 3rd and 4th December, of a workshop entitled “Libraries and HEIs Internationalization”. This training was hosted by University of Hanoi (HANU), delivered by an expert from University of Seville and attended by all Asian partners. The workshop was composed of a theoretical session and a technical visit to HANU’s amenities. Participants had also the opportunity to exchange good practices.

Additionally, the 3rd partner meeting and an International Conference called "Joint International Conference: International Cooperation in teaching, learning and research", were organized during the 5th and 7th of the same month. The Conference was a very successful event that could count with the participation of not only the project partners but also students, professors of different institutions, local universities and Mr Tom Corrie, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union in Vietnam.

Some interesting topics were discussed such as: the cooperation between EU and Vietnam and/or Southeast Asia, Experience in Developing Erasmus+ projects in Vietnam, or University cooperation among Southeast Asiatic countries.

2nd National Roundtable – The Institutional Strategic Plans for International Cooperation in Vietnam

On 13th November Vietnamese partners, HANU and PTIT, co-organized the 2nd National Roundtable with the title “The Institutional Strategic Plans for International Cooperation in Vietnam” at PTIT’s Hanoi campus. The meeting brought together around 80 participants, including representatives from institutional agencies of public ministries of Vietnam (Information and Communications and Education and Training), the Australian Embassy in Vietnam as well as lecturers and students from four universities (Palermo University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HANU and PTIT). The roundtable was successfully held and gave participants the chance of exchanging experiences, knowledge and cooperation, as well as promoting public debate and facilitating the involvement of other HEIs in benchmarking activities.
